Look who's talking... again!

Become popular, and suffer the consequences!

Almost 4 weeks ago I started to experiment with some viral marketing techniques. I saw results over night. Immediately my hit count rose by a magnitude of 1000! What did I do? Simply posted a link to a certain article into three popular forums and whoosh, it took off, with links being posted all over the net about the article in question.
Great I though, that works really well! Too bloody well it would seem. Had I read the small print of Web-Mania's (my host) contract I would have seen the next step coming. Yep, I ran over my monthly bandwidth allowance. I was now faced with a difficult descision... pay up and purchase more bandwidth, which at the rate it was being used would be extremely expensive, or wait until the end of the month for the bandwidth allowance to reset. I'm sorry but I went for the cheaper option.
So that my friends is why my little corner of the web has been unlit for the last few weeks. It was all down to economics. On the downside I missed posting and playing with my site like I never thought I would, but on the upside I got to spend more time doing other things that I had let slip.
Anyway, I'm now in the market for a new host if anyone has any recomendations? The Unlimited package from Streamline.net has been suggested to me, and does look attractive, but I would like some other options. I asked my host if they could match it but was met with sceptisism, rebuttle and a resounding 'NO'. My requirements are not even that great! PHP, MySQL, a gig or so of space, and as much bandwidth as I can snatch.
Anyone?.. Bueller...?

Thanks Ash, I'll look into it.
I don't want to force registrations for comments, never a good thing, but I have been thinking about storing the details in a cookie. That way the user has the choice.
