He runs, he jumps, he talks, and he's as cute as a button!

ROPID is a small robot built by Tomotaka Takahashi. Nothing special you may think, there are hundreds of robots out there. Well yes there are, but not like this one. Although ROPID is still one the bent-knee brigade (mush like Honda's ASIMO), ROPID can actually jump several inches and land balanced. He can also respond to voice commands (nods his head in an oh so cute fashion when he understands the command), run, swagger(!), and all manor of other uniquely human traits. And the little guy is tiny, coming it at around 18 inches tall.
I think he's probably the best of the modern robots that I have seen of late. I love the stylish design, and the way that he moves and interacts just makes him a joy to watch. If they ever release ROPID to the market I will definitely be in line.
